While working yesterday I noticed something at the corner of my eye in the comms room.

Yep a decomposing mouse, lovely!

Holiday Fun

Before we bought our new home we already had booked a holiday in Canada. On arrival we were told that summer had arrived in Toronto by the pilot, 33 degrees. As soon as I stepped off the plane the heat hit me. Great another two weeks of sweating my ass off!

Once we went through customs and picked up our luggage I called my brother who is currently living in TO. He asked me if I had been told anything on the plane. Nothing was said on the plane. He went into detail on how there is an illegal strike with the TTC. Just arriving and having no idea what the hell the TTC was we decided to go ask at the information desk.

Turns out there was a an illegal strike by the TTC and we were going to have to make other arrangements on how to get into downtown TO. We managed to catch a GO bus which went into YorkMills, asking the driver how to get to your next destination (Yonge on St Clair). He said we could walk 2 miles south or catch a cab, as I had already lost 10% of my weight from the heat we grabbed a cab.

Our 1st day in TO was a complete nightmare with the hole public transport system at a standstill and large suitcases to carry about in the sweltering heat.

The next day the TTC was back up and running, we bought a weekly ticket and was amazed at how well the public transport system actually was!
