Blogger and Windows Live Writer

Today Blogger made me move from my blogger account to my Google account, ok fair enough, I changed my setting in Windows Live messenger and then went to blog...

java.lang.Exception: RPC handler object "blogger2" not found and no default handler registered

Nice error message that means nothing to me!

Lovely, looks like blogger and WLW dont like each other anymore.  So went on about the usual way of fixing things.  Since WLW is Beta got the new version, still same error.

I finally managed to get it going again, so for anyone that uses blogger and WLW here is a quick tip of what to do if you get this message.

Step 1:

Delete your blog from WLW completely.  If this is your only blog, then create a dummy one so it allows you to delete the real one.

Step 2:

Add New Blog
Press Tools--> Add weblog account and follow the prompts:  (Names of Prompts are in Blue)

ADD NEW BLOG SCREEN: Choose the second option, titled "Another Blog Service" and press NEXT.

Step 3:

Configure Writer to work with your current blog service.
Username: "username@gmail.com"
Password: enter your gmail password.
Press NEXT

Step 4:

Follow the rest of the wizard through to completion. Follow this up with a test blog.

Didn't realise you had a blog. You should have said. Should put the URL on your MSN motto line for a bit more readership. Will add an RSS feed to it later.

Keep it up, looks good.

p.s. not had a chance to look at that xbox drive this week. Will get it sorted by the weekend for you. Need anything else soldered you know who not to call :-D

p.p.s. You should get a feedburner account and let your feeds be handled by Feedburner. Gives you some pretty powerful tools. I concur Windows live spaces sucks compared to the other blogging platforms

MSN motto, no chance of that with MSN blocked all ways at home and work. Meebo does not allow you to add a motto. Feedburner i have had a look at before, will look again see what it can do.
